DocSTAR is your
All-File-Achieve-Vault. docSTAR supports Native File Formats. Files
can be stored into docSTAR in their native file formats such as Word,
Excell, Word Perfect, e-mail and over 100 other file formats. Once a
document is archived into docSTAR, you have complete and indisputable
proof that the document will always be retained in the original format
that it was in when it entered into docSTAR. An exact copy of the
document can be re-imported back into its original file format such as
Word. The copy can then be edited and the modified copy could be stored
into DocSTAR as a new Document. When a file is scanned or imported into
DocSTAR, the original is content and date stamped with USPS
Electronic Postmark™ (EPM) from the United States Postal Service® (USPS)
The USPS
EPM from AuthentiDate™ eliminates any doubts about the integrity of your
documents.
Document
authentication with USPS EPM from AuthentiDate™ detects if a document is
corrupted or has been tampered with. It also assures bulletproof content
authenticity for non-repudiation, auditing, or compliance.
docSTAR
employs the USPS EPM to ensure that your electronic documents are
undeniably original and unaltered. It could save your company a fortune
in litigation costs or collection problems stemming from repudiation of
your documents.
A
well-established body of federal law exists which supports the USPS and
its operations and services. The United States Postal Inspection Service
protects the integrity of USPS operations and is authorized to
investigate a variety of criminal activity. Any attempt to interfere
with the operation of the USPS EPM service may be subject to
investigation and prosecution under federal statutes.
Paper
documents can be scanned into DocStar as pdf, tiff or jpeg formats from
scanners or even multifunctional devices such the Konica Minolta and
Muratec products that we offer at High Tech Office Systems.
When a
file is entered into DocSTAR’s two-tier system, three copies of the file
are automatically created. Two copies are simultaneously written to two
mirrored RAID Hard drive arrays AND a third copy is written to a DVD
drive. The DVD drive is used for disaster recovery archiving. The
back-up DVD’s can be stored off-premises to prevent a loss from a
catastrophic disaster such as a fire, tornado, hurricane or flood. If a
catastrophic event should occur, High Tech can have your files restored
from your back-up DVD files in a matter of a few hours!
