Question and Answers about our NEC IP Phone Systems

Q) I don't want my customers getting Voice Mail (Auto Attendant) when they call in. I want a live person to answer. Why do I want an Auto Attendant / Voice Mail system?
A) Allot of people feel that way and of course you don't have to get Voice Mail. However, during business hours, you can still have your calls answered by a "warm body". After-hours you can have the Auto Attendant answer calls and allow callers to leave messages to whomever they want. You can also announce your regular business hours or directions when people call in after-hours.

During the day, even though someone personally answers all calls, if a caller needs to reach one of your employees when they are not here, they can be transferred to the employee's voice mail. After the caller leaves a message, you can even have the system call the employee's cell phone and play the message. That way you don't have to give out your employee's cell phone number, and your employees can be quicker to respond to your callers.

You can also have the system be your automatic "back-up" operator in case your receptionist can't answer a call right away. Even those 'haters" of voice mail would rather get an Auto Attendant than to just have the phone ring and ring with no one answering.

Q) Does the system support Music on Hold?
A) Yes, that is a standard feature. All that would be needed is the Music source or On-hold message device (not included). A device such a CD Player, MP3 player or Message-on Hold could be used. The system actually comes with 2 different audio input ports. You can have one source for your callers to hear when they are placed on hold and the other to provide "piped-in" background music from a radio through the phone sets when the phones are idle. The background music can be turned on and off whenever you choose at each phone.
So that you do not have to replace batteries, you would want something with its own AC adaptor.

Q) I have two different businesses operating out of my office with different phone numbers. Does your Auto Attendant/Voice mail system allow different greetings to be programed depending upon which line(s) the caller called in on?
A) Yes. Each line can be programed with different greetings based upon what line was called in upon and what time the caller calls in.
If you have two different Message-on-hold sources, a different hold message could play depending upon what business line the caller called in upon.

Q) If the Administrator allows it, can my voice messages be automatically forwarded to another phone number such as my cell phone?
A) Yes. You can even tell what hours of the day that you want them forwarded to and even have different phones numbers that the messages are forwarded to depending upon the hours that the message was received.
